Host an OntheBoards.tv screening for your club or patrons.
Our films have been screened over 50 times in the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia - at movie theaters, performance venues, and community centers. Each screening has served a different purpose. Read more about past events below and get in touch if you have an idea for a screening at your organization.
SCREENING + PANEL or WORKSHOP
Public OntheBoards.tv screenings seem to be best recieved when accompanied by an interactive experience to help contextualize the film for the community. Past screenings have featured post-screening Q&A type panels, (typically with community leaders, artists, and/or represantives from the host organization) and artist-led workshops.
In 2013, we developed the Community Screenings Project with Portland's BoomArts. OtB and BoomArts travel to five rural locations in Washington and Oregon to screen an OntheBoards.tv film Amarillo and host a post-screening bi-lingual discussion featuring a panel of local community members and/or the artists via Skype. We further developed this project Spring of 2016, travelling to Austin and Chicago with Amarillo, and returning to two of our 2013 locations with new films featuring different artists, chosen by the organizations. When travelling back to Klamath Falls, OR, we worked with Seattle-based artist Zoe Scofield who taught a master dance class for local dancers, and attended the public screening and post-screening Q&A.
